The Gourd Shop was founded by Michelle Pham in December 2024 and officially opened for gift sales in April 2025. Michelle also runs a fulfillment and warehouse business for small e-commerce stores, where she prints labels, packs, and ships packages daily. It’s a fun and rewarding job that gives her a flexible schedule and a deeper understanding of the retail world.
But Michelle wanted to do more than just sell things — she wanted every package from her shop to mean something.
In Asian culture, gourds symbolize wealth, growth, and prosperity. Watching a gourd grow is rewarding — they grow quickly and can be used for cooking, decoration, and even crafting into household items like bowls and containers. Plus, their seeds can be saved and replanted, continuing the cycle of growth and giving.
Michelle hopes The Gourd Shop reflects that same spirit. She wants each gift to feel thoughtful and meaningful — something that brings joy and can be repurposed or cherished long after it’s received.
The Gourd Shop is a small, independently run business. While Michelle personally handles most aspects of the shop, she collaborates with talented designers and experts to bring you the best products and service. Every item is carefully selected, tested, and used before it makes it into the store — whether it’s sustainably made, supports job creation, showcases excellent craftsmanship, or simply sparks joy.
And to make each gift even more special, every package includes a beautifully designed card with a personal message from the sender — because that’s what we mean by our slogan: "Your message, our craft."
